Helicopter charter for match days
Fly from central London to the match
A helicopter takes a group from the river at Battersea to a landing site near the ground in the time it takes to drive across London, and a car does the rest. We cover eleven grounds, and the pages below work out the flight for each.
- Fly the direct line from the London Heliport, in an Agusta 109 at 140 mph
- We do not land at the grounds themselves: a helicopter lands at an airfield or a confirmed site nearby, and a car takes you in
- The heliport closes at 23:00, so an evening kick-off decides if you can fly home the same night
- A charter specialist on the phone, 24/7

How a match day by helicopter works
The same five facts apply to every ground in this guide.
Football grounds are built among streets and car parks and are not approved helicopter sites. We land at an airfield or a confirmed site nearby, and a car takes you in. See can a helicopter land at my venue?
The London Heliport takes its last landing at 22:55, and no flights are allowed between 23:00 and 07:00. See the opening hours. That is why the table above shows a latest kick-off for each ground.
Kick-off to whistle about 1 hour 55, then 40 minutes to take-off, the flight, and 20 minutes of slack, all before 22:55. Later kick-offs mean an overnight stay and an early flight the next morning.
We fly you and arrange the car. Tickets and hospitality come from the club or an official agent. Send us the fixture and the kick-off when you ask for the flight.
Distance divided by 140 mph, rounded. Wind, routing, air traffic and a possible fuel stop on the longest flights change the real figure. See helicopter flight times from London.
How it works
Book your helicopter to the football in three steps
- 1Tell us where and whenThe date, how many of you are flying, where in the football you want to land, and if you would like to return the same day or later.
- 2We agree the landing and your priceWe contact the airfield or site near the football, ask for permission and agree a plan B. You then receive one clear price. Landing fees charged by the site are shown where they apply.
- 3Fly from BatterseaArrive at the London Heliport 10 minutes before departure. Your helicopter flies the direct line to the football, above the roads.
Cost
How much is a helicopter to the football?
There is no single price for a flight to the football, because it changes with the helicopter, the date, how many of you are flying, how long the helicopter waits and the landing fees at the match day end.
Helicopters are priced by flying time, not by the mile. Tell us your plan for the football and a charter specialist sends one clear price, any time of day or night.
- The type of helicopter for the football, from the AS355 to the Agusta 109 Grand and the H145
- The date and the time of day
- One way, return, or a return with waiting time or an overnight stay in the football
- Landing and handling fees at the other end

Your helicopter
Choose your helicopter
Pick by party size and style. We will advise on the best choice for your trip to the football.
The most economical twin for a small party travelling light to a match.
The helicopter we use for the flight times on this page: quick and refined, with a cabin for up to 6.
More room for a bigger group or a large kit bag per person. Ask us about availability for your date.
Before you fly
What to know before flying to the football
We agree the landing site near the football with you when you book, and ask the site for permission. Every landing is subject to permission and site suitability, and we always agree a plan B.
Soft-sided bags fit a helicopter hold better than hard suitcases, which matters on a flight to the football. Tell us how many bags you have, and each passenger’s weight, when you book, and we will confirm that everything fits.
Helicopters fly in suitable weather only, so the forecast for the football matters. If your flight to the football is cancelled because of the weather, you pay nothing, and we will work with you on the earliest alternative. Check conditions on our Battersea Heliport weather page. See also helicopter charter and the weather.
Arrive at the London Heliport 10 minutes before departure. Book as early as you can for big fixtures, and earlier for groups or larger helicopters. Tell us the fixture, not just the date, because kick-off times move for television.
Our partner Executive Global Travel can meet you with a chauffeur car timed to the helicopter, and wait for the final whistle. In Newcastle see chauffeur Newcastle.
For a larger party, or a trip that starts away from London, see private jet charter to Leeds Bradford, to Liverpool and to Manchester from Charter Private Jet, our partner for airport-by-airport jet charter.

Still unsure? Call +44 20 7781 8094 any time.
Can a helicopter land at a Premier League ground?
No. Grounds sit among streets, car parks and stands and are not approved helicopter sites. A helicopter lands at an airfield or a confirmed site near the ground, and a car takes you the last stretch. We agree the landing site and the car with you before you book.
How long does a helicopter take from London to the match?
From about 20 minutes to Brighton to about 105 minutes to Newcastle, worked out at 140 mph over the straight-line distance in an Agusta 109. Manchester and Liverpool are about 70 to 75 minutes. Add the car at the other end. The table on this page gives every ground.
Can I get home the same night after an evening match?
For the nearest grounds, yes, by arrangement. The London Heliport takes its last landing at 22:55, so the latest kick-off that works depends on the flight: about 19:30 for Brighton, but only about 18:15 for Newcastle. Later kick-offs mean an overnight stay and an early flight the next morning. See the heliport opening hours.
Do you sell match tickets or hospitality?
No. We fly you and arrange the car. Tickets and hospitality come from the club or an official agent.
How much does a helicopter to the football cost?
There is no single price, because it changes with the helicopter, the ground, the date, how many of you fly, how long the helicopter waits and the landing fees. Tell us the fixture and we send one clear price, any time of day or night. See helicopter hire prices and how helicopter charter costs are calculated.
How many people can fly?
The Agusta 109 Grand carries up to 6 passengers, the AS355 up to 5 and the H145 up to 8. For a larger group we can use more than one helicopter.
Is a helicopter quicker than the train?
For most grounds, yes, door to landing site, and it leaves when you are ready. The train from central London takes two to three hours to the big northern cities. A helicopter, though, lands near the ground, not in the city centre, so the car at the far end is part of the journey. Our guide helicopter or train from London compares the two.
What happens if the kick-off time changes?
Tell us as soon as the club announces the change. We move your flight where the heliport hours, the landing site and the crew allow, and we say plainly if the new time rules out a same-day return.
