Where we can land
Landing sites in the Cotswolds
These come from each airfield’s own website. Hours change, so we check them again for your date, and every landing is subject to permission.
Its own site says the airport is open to the public seven days a week from 09:00 to 17:00, near Cirencester, with online prior permission and handling requested at least 24 hours ahead. It lists helicopter charters among its services.
The airfield’s own site asks visiting pilots to telephone for prior permission and to read its noise abatement procedures first. We make the call and plan the approach to match.
We have not found a Cotswolds hotel that says on its own site that it accepts helicopters, so we do not plan landings at hotels without the owner’s written agreement.
Landing at a wedding venue, an estate or a field needs the owner’s permission and a suitable site, and we ask for both for you. Read can a helicopter land at my venue?
The Cotswolds is a designated National Landscape. We keep the routing sensible for the people who live there, and tell you of any local rules we find.
We always agree a second landing option before the flight, in case of weather or a change at the first site.

Cost
How much is a helicopter to the Cotswolds?
There is no single price for this flight, because it changes with the helicopter, the date, how many of you are flying, how long the helicopter waits and the landing fees at the other end.
Helicopters are priced by flying time, not by the mile. Tell us your plan and a charter specialist sends one clear price, any time of day or night.
- The type of helicopter, from the AS355 to the Agusta 109 Grand and the H145
- The date and the time of day
- One way, return, or a return with waiting time or an overnight stay
- Landing and handling fees at the other end

Before you fly
What to know before flying to the Cotswolds
We agree the landing site with you when you book, and ask the site for permission. Every landing is subject to permission and site suitability, and we always agree a plan B.
Soft-sided bags fit a helicopter hold better than hard suitcases. Tell us how many bags you have, and each passenger’s weight, when you book, and we will confirm that everything fits.
Helicopters fly in suitable weather only. If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, you pay nothing, and we will work with you on the earliest alternative. Check conditions on our Battersea Heliport weather page. See also helicopter charter and the weather.
Arrive at the London Heliport 10 minutes before departure. Book as early as you can for summer weekends, race meetings and wedding dates, and earlier for groups or larger helicopters.
Our partner Executive Global Travel can meet you with a chauffeur car, timed to the helicopter, so if the flight moves, the car moves with it.

Still unsure? Call +44 20 7781 8094 any time.
How long does a helicopter from London to the Cotswolds take?
About 25 to 40 minutes in the air from the London Heliport in Battersea, depending on where you land, the helicopter and the wind. Add 10 minutes to arrive at the heliport before departure.
How much does a helicopter to the Cotswolds cost?
The price changes with the helicopter, the date, how many of you are flying, any waiting time and the landing fees. Tell us your plan and we send one clear quote. See helicopter hire prices for examples of other routes.
Where can a helicopter land in the Cotswolds?
The airfields we can name from their own websites are Cotswold Airport at Kemble and Enstone Airfield near Chipping Norton, each by prior permission. A private site needs the owner’s permission and a suitable site.
Can a helicopter land at my hotel or wedding venue?
Possibly. We need the landowner’s permission and a suitable site, and we ask for both for you. Our guide can a helicopter land at my venue? explains what we look at.
Is a helicopter faster than driving to the Cotswolds?
Yes. The flight takes about 25 to 40 minutes in the air, where the drive from central London is often around two hours and longer on a Friday evening. The helicopter also lands near where you are staying.
Can I fly one way, or return the same day?
Both are possible. A same-day return is easy because the flight is so short, and the airfield’s opening hours and the daylight decide the latest return. Tell us your plan and we check the hours at both ends.
Can the helicopter wait for me?
Yes, or it can fly back and return for you. A waiting helicopter adds to the price, so tell us how long you will be and we price the best option.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, you pay nothing. We work with you to find the earliest suitable alternative. See helicopter charter and the weather.
How many people and how much luggage can you carry?
The AS355 carries up to 5 passengers, the Agusta 109 Grand up to 6 and the H145 up to 8. Soft bags fit the hold better than hard suitcases, so tell us what you are bringing and we confirm it fits.
