What business clients ask
Safety, hours and practical questions
The questions that come up before a company books its first helicopter flight.
Our helicopters are flown under a UK Civil Aviation Authority Air Operator Certificate, the approval the CAA requires before an aircraft carries paying passengers. The CAA publishes a list of certificate holders.
The CAA’s guidance for off-airfield sites, CAP 3043, requires helicopters landing in congested areas to operate to Performance Class 1. That is why every aircraft we charter from central London is a twin-engine helicopter. See twin-engine and single-engine helicopters.
The London Heliport has set hours and charges outside them. See our Battersea Heliport opening hours page, and tell us if you need an early start or a late return.
Weights decide which helicopter we offer and how many seats it has. Give us each passenger’s weight and the luggage when you book. Soft bags fit the hold better than hard cases.
Landing at a head office, a plant or a field needs the owner’s permission, and in built-up areas the CAA’s permission as well. We ask for both for you. Read can a helicopter land at my venue?
Some sites are for daylight use only, so in winter we plan around sunset. We always agree a second landing option and a car before the flight.
How it works
Book your helicopter for your business trip in three steps
- 1Tell us where and whenThe date, how many of you are flying, where you want to land, and if you would like to return the same day or later.
- 2We agree the landing and your priceWe contact the airfield or site, ask for permission and agree a plan B. You then receive one clear price. Landing fees charged by the site are shown where they apply.
- 3Fly from BatterseaArrive at the London Heliport 10 minutes before departure. Your helicopter flies the direct line, above the roads.
Cost
How much is a helicopter for your business trip?
There is no single price for this flight, because it changes with the helicopter, the date, how many of you are flying, how long the helicopter waits and the landing fees at the other end.
Helicopters are priced by flying time, not by the mile. Tell us your plan and a charter specialist sends one clear price, any time of day or night.
- The type of helicopter, from the AS355 to the Agusta 109 Grand and the H145
- The date and the time of day
- One way, return, or a return with waiting time or an overnight stay
- Landing and handling fees at the other end
For examples of what other routes cost, see our helicopter hire prices page and how helicopter charter costs are calculated.
Your helicopter
Choose your helicopter
Pick by party size and style. We will advise on the best choice for your trip.
A reliable twin-engine helicopter and our most economical choice for a small group.
Quick and refined, with panoramic windows and a comfortable cabin.
More room for a larger party and its luggage. Ask us about availability for your dates.
Before you fly
What to know before flying for your business trip
We agree the landing site with you when you book, and ask the site for permission. Every landing is subject to permission and site suitability, and we always agree a plan B.
Soft-sided bags fit a helicopter hold better than hard suitcases. Tell us how many bags you have, and each passenger’s weight, when you book, and we will confirm that everything fits.
Helicopters fly in suitable weather only. If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, you pay nothing, and we will work with you on the earliest alternative. Check conditions on our Battersea Heliport weather page. See also helicopter charter and the weather.
Arrive at the London Heliport 10 minutes before departure. For routine transfers we can often act within hours, and we recommend booking as early as you can for events, groups and larger helicopters.
Our partner Executive Global Travel can meet you with a chauffeur car, timed to the helicopter, so if the flight moves, the car moves with it.
The London Heliport is on the south bank of the Thames at Bridges Court, Battersea SW11 3BE. See getting there and the opening hours.

Questions
Helicopter charter for your business trip: your questions answered
Still unsure? Call +44 20 7781 8094 any time.
What is business helicopter charter?
It is the private hire of a helicopter, with its crew, for business travel: meetings, site visits, airport transfers and multi-stop days. You choose the times and the landing sites, and the helicopter flies when you are ready.
How much does a business helicopter charter cost?
The price changes with the helicopter, the date, how many of you are flying, the route, any waiting time and the landing fees. Tell us your plan and we send one clear quote. See helicopter hire prices and how costs are calculated.
How quickly can I get a helicopter for a meeting?
Our charter specialists answer 24 hours a day. For a routine transfer we can often arrange a flight within hours, subject to a helicopter, a crew and the landing site being available.
Can I transfer between the heliport and my private jet?
Yes. Farnborough, Biggin Hill, Luton, Stansted, Heathrow and Northolt are all a short flight from Battersea. We agree the landing and the handling with the airport. See helicopter transfers from London.
Which cities can I reach for a same-day meeting?
Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Manchester and Newcastle are each reachable in under two hours in the air, and most in well under an hour and a quarter. The helicopter can wait for you or fly back and return for you.
Are your helicopters approved to carry passengers?
Yes. They are flown under a UK Civil Aviation Authority Air Operator Certificate, which the CAA requires before an aircraft carries paying passengers.
Why do you fly twin-engine helicopters?
The CAA’s guidance for off-airfield sites requires helicopters landing in congested areas to operate to Performance Class 1, and we fly twin-engine helicopters from central London for that reason. See twin-engine and single-engine helicopters.
Can the helicopter land at our offices or site?
Only with the owner’s permission and a suitable site, and in a built-up area the CAA’s permission as well. We ask for both. Many companies land at a nearby airfield and send a car.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, you pay nothing. We work with you to find the earliest suitable alternative, which for a business trip may be a jet or a car. See helicopter charter and the weather.
How many people can you carry?
The AS355 carries up to 5 passengers, the Agusta 109 Grand up to 6 and the H145 up to 8. For larger parties we can use more than one helicopter.
